What is Shichimi Togarashi?

Shichimi Togarashi means translated "7 spice chilli mix"and is a Japanese hot spice mix from 7 ingredients such as chili peppers, mandarin peel, sesame, poppy seeds, hemp, nori, ground sansho pepper. The quantitative composition can vary depending on the manufacturer. Sometimes yuzu pods, rapeseeds, ginger or shiso are also added or replace other ingredients. However, the chilli pods always remain the main ingredient.
